(More customer reviews)The GenTran Power Cord is an excellent device to connect your generator to your GenTran Transfer Switch or Power Inlet Box. The heavy duty connectors and sturdy cable should ensure many years of safe and dependable service.
The cable smells like new auto tires when you open the cable box. I assume that is because they used real rubber to jacket the cable. Regardless, the cable is flexible and should resist kinks, unlike those plastic coated cords sold at the local hardware stores. The connectors fit snugly into their respective jacks. Please note, a little firm pressure was needed to make the first connection - that's a good thing as far as I am concerned.
The product was suppose to be shipped 2-day Prime, but arrived in one day. I really appreciate the fast shipping.
I checked the cable after running the generator for 30 minutes and the cable and connectors were cool to the touch. I am confident the internal connections are low resistance and should work efficiently.
I got the 25 foot version of this cable at a cost of [...]. That seems like a lot of money for a cable, even for a well built cable. BTW: The cost is why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 stars. Ordering a shorter version of the same cable would have saved me a few bucks.
Bottom Line:
Pro: It does the job and should last for many years. I like the heavy duty construction and appreciate the fast shipping.
Con: A little expensive. Check the length needed before ordering.
