(More customer reviews)We use this divider in a 2007 Subaru Forester to keep our two dogs separated. (They are not the best of friends.) I have also been told that it is safer (if you get in an accident) to keep your dog in a smaller, more confined space such as this provides. The assembly was fairly straightforward and didn't take too long with two people working together. Some of the wing nuts can get cross threaded if you aren't careful. My biggest complaint is that the long threaded bolts that run from floor to ceiling can get loose very easily and the whole thing rattles very loudly. I am constantly having to readjust this piece (at least once on every long trip). Fortunately, all it takes is a twist of the large wing nuts, but it's still kind of a pain.

(More customer reviews)The product came almost immediately after placing the order, and I found it very easy to assemble and install. However the barrier does not stay in place in my Subaru Forester, and I continually have to ask my stronger husband to tighten the screws. The barrier also fell on top of my foster dog when he became anxious and tried to stick his head in an open area.
The barrier will stay put for short hops in the car, and it has been helpful in keeping a nervous little dog in the back and not hopping all over the car while I'm driving. If I had to do it over again, I would have spent a bit more to get a product that stays in place which I don't constantly have to fiddle with.

Midwest Metal 11 Pet Barrier 6 Bar Tubular Review

(More customer reviews)The instructions say to "Insert verticle upright tubes through 2 of the plastic ...support brackets"." While that sounds like sliding it right through, in fact it's so tight that using WD-40 and a hammer, it still wouldn't slide. Then the plastic bracket split in the middle, (It didn't break at the top or bottom; it split like the seat of your pants) because the upright is too fat for it!
Order the Midwest Pet Barrier 11 with 6 Tubular Metal Bars only if you can get it assembled already. Let them deal with getting the replacement parts needed when you discover it is "Impossible to Assemble"!
